How do you know if you want to choose to opt into a MLM or Network Marketing business? Well, it is just like anything else – you need to educate yourself before you dive in to any new business proposition.

Do your research

Before you dive into any mlm plan, make sure you at least know what a multi-level marketing business is and what it looks like. Read up on the definition and terms, the expectations, and the requirements of the business at hand. Without knowledge, you have no power. If it looks like something that you are interested in, then you can proceed to the next step.

Visit a seminar

All multi-level marketing businesses tend to have a seminar or presentation where a speaker will present important information. This is an opportunity for you to learn more about the business. This is also an opportunity for you to ask important questions.

Look into the company in question

If you find that you are interested in the concept of multi-level marketing and you have attended a presentation or seminar, then go to the next step. Dig up as much as you can about this particular company or business. Find out how many years it has been in service, how many employees it has, and if it is a worldwide organization. Look for reviews anywhere on the internet and talk to others who have been with the company for a while.

Check out the product

If you are going to be in the business of selling a product or service, you need to be fully acclimated with the product. You also need to be comfortable talking about, selling, and promoting the product, as well. If you are not sold on the product, you cannot sell it to someone else.

Be on board to sell

Make sure that you are aware that you will be required to sell the product or service the company is marketing and be sure that you are comfortable with that. Also, be sure that you know you will also have to sell friends and family to the idea of joining the multi-level marketing company. Besides selling a good or service, you will also be required to sell the company to your friends, co-workers, neighbors, and even relatives.

These are just a few of the most important questions you need to ask yourself before choosing a multi level marketing business.

Like it or not, social media is a part of the present and looks like it will be part of the future, as well. If you have a company or business of any kind, then you probably already know that it is time to figure out the best way to market your business on social media sites such as Facebook.

There are many ways to market to your prospects, but there are also many ways to engage your prospects. While both these topics may seem different, there are some similarities, as well.

In order to engage your prospects on Facebook, there are several tips you need to know:

1. Be engaging

Believe it or not, you have the power to engage someone using nothing more than your words. Whatever you post, make sure it pulls the reader in and makes them want more of the same. Start by posting different types of posts and see how many responses you receive. Facebook is a great way to run market tests.

2. Be authentic

Whatever you do, be authentic. When you are not being real, even if it is just through your words, people will sense your inauthentic come through the page.

3. Be vulnerable

Other people enjoy when you are courageous enough to be vulnerable. Share your frustrations, your successes, your fears. This will strike a chord with just about everyone there is on social media. Sometimes people visit social media just for this reason.

4. Be relatable

Make sure what you are posting or writing about is something that everyone can relate to, especially those in your target audience. When others can relate to your content, they will more than likely come back again in the future looking forward to more engaging content.

5. Keep up with the trends

Other social media avenues such as Twitter are excellent tools to help keep you in the loop. Check your Twitter account to see what the next hot new topic is and go from there. You will be surprised how thirsty and audience is for the next new hot thing.

6. Do not talk about certain things

No matter what you do or what business you are in, it is important to note that there are certain subjects you should stay away from like the plague – those subjects are politics and religion. Stay away from these or any connotation to them as much as possible.

While social media may not be your favourite topic, especially if you are in the older set, but it is a necessary component of engaging your audience and keeping them coming back for more.

What Are You Offering Your Prospects?


When it comes to marketing your product or service there are several key factors to consider. First of all, you must have a product or service that you believe in because if you do not believe in it, it will not matter how wonderful it is. You will not be able to market that product.

Your prospect is a real person, someone with desires and fears. In order to successfully market your product, there are several things you must know.

Know your prospect

Once you have a product you believe in, it is important to know your prospect intimately. What keeps your prospect up at night, what does he or she worry about, what is the first thing that this person thinks about upon waking in the morning. What are your prospects biggest fears or worries? Study your prospect well because knowing what makes that individual tick is what will be the difference to successfully marketing to his or her appeal.

Trigger something in your prospect

Once you have gotten to know your prospect deeply, find out what triggers that individual. Is it pride, fear, worry, or being financially stable? Can you appeal to the fact that he or she is well educated? Find that one thing, that emotional hot button that triggers pleasure for your prospect. Once you find out what your prospect’s desire is, it is easier to offer them what they are seeking.

Draw them a picture

In order to properly market to your prospect it is important to draw them a visual picture in their head. Your prospect must be able to visualise what it is that he or she seeks. Put them in the center of the action so that they can see the value of what you have to offer as it pertains directly to them. Once they get a visual picture, they will relate better to wanting what you have to offer.

Make them a promise that is unique

If you have something to offer, chances are that someone else has that same product or service to offer, as well. Make your offer something unique, something that your prospect cannot attain anywhere else except from you. Once they realise that this is a unique offer, they will be more inclined to want to purchase that product or information. One of the most important keys to marketing is to be unique in what you are offering.

Once you have a product you believe in and get to know your prospect, tapping into their emotional side as well as putting them in the center of the action and making them a unique promise, you will have most of the pieces of your prospecting puzzle complete.

Finding A Profitable Niche

Finding A Profitable Niche


The boat has long sailed where you could just choose any market and turn it into a profitable niche.

The online market and some niches are getting saturated as more and more people get started in online marketing. This makes a broader niche harder to rank if you have a website.  If you are running a Facebook or Instagram page you will notice that there are hundreds of other pages running broad niches.

It is true that most of the profitable niches already have a lot of people marketing in them.  That is not a bad thing as it means the market is healthy and there is money to be made.

If you want to compete you simply have to find your own smaller sub-niche.  Still lots of demand but much less competition.  You can still find a profitable niche.

Broad Niches vs Narrow Niches

A broad niche would be something like Sports and can even be broken down in sub niches such as Fishing.  Then that can be even further narrowed down to types of fishing such as Bass Fishing or Ice Fishing.  Narrow that even further and you could have a profitable niche in say Ice Fishing Gear,  Ice Fishing Clothing.

Or look at the over saturated Dog Niche lets start with Dog ====> Dog Care ====> French Bulldog Care ====> Breeding French Bulldogs.  You see how you can narrow the niche down.

A narrower niche is proving more fruitful because these narrower niches are easier to rank for.  If you choose a very targeted niche and create great content then you have a higher chance of ranking on Google for your website even though there is a smaller audience.

The narrower the niche the more specific the buyer and generally more passionate.

When looking at Facebook the broader niches have a smaller affinity.  There are more people that would put on their profile that they like Fishing but they may not necessarily fish on a regular basis.  The passion is just not there.

A person that says they like Bass Fishing or Ice Fishing will have a higher affinity because you are narrowing down the interest.  It is more specific.

How to tell if a niche is too broad or too narrow?

A niche is generally too broad when you have trouble isolating the specific pain point your product solves, the audience is in the millions and competition is everywhere.

On the flip side a niche is too narrow when you find the pain point but the market is too small.  A niche is also too narrow when the audiences on Facebook are limited.

There are so many products you can sell to niches now that I have started to reverse engineer finding a niche which means that first I find the “Super Niche” then I find the products.

With all the print on demand products and products you can easily get access to it really easy to find something to sell to any niche. 

The hardest part is finding out if your niche has what it takes to build you a strong income.


  • Find a Broad niche
  • Break down the broad niche into sub-niches
  • Break down the sub-niches so that they are narrower
  • Establish whether there is a market for the sub-niches
  • Build a website or social media platform for your chosen niche
  • Monetise

This week I caused a frenzy of activity and messages when I posted a picture of a viral video from one of my Facebook Fan Pages.  I received a ton of questions on how I create these viral videos and how I make them go viral.

Viral videos can be great at getting a large amount of new fans to your page as well as using video to promote products or services.


The key to viral videos is to understand your audience and know what interests them.  You really need to do your research either from your existing Facebook Fan Page or from competitor niche pages.

Finding The Video

This is not actually hard as there is so much content out there.  You can find your videos on YouTube or on Facebook.  Be careful and understand what videos you are going to get in trouble with for copyright.

With YouTube you can filter by clicking on Creative Commons and if you look under more on each video it will show whether the license is for re-use.

Cutting Your Video

The best videos that go viral are videos that are short; create a reaction fast and then gets the watcher to react by either liking or sharing the video.  The best videos are between 20-30 seconds or a maximum (only if the video is extremely exceptional) of 1 minute.

I use to download videos off either YouTube (by clicking share and copying that link into telechargerunevideo) or Facebook by going into the video (right clicking or for Mac Control + right click) and copy the Facebook video link into telechargerunevideo.

Find the part of the video that has the most key aspect on why it is a good video and crop the video down to 20-30 seconds.  I use Camtasia for all my video editing but there are lots of free tools out there that you can use.

Creating An Attractive Thumbnail

Take a screenshot of a part of the video that may create an initial interest.  Use an editing tool like or and upload your screenshot.


Add some arrows, or a circle around the main part of what is happening in the video in red, orange or yellow.  Add some text that is going to attract your audience to click and watch your video.

This will be your thumbnail that you will attach to your video (will be in the options when uploading your video onto Facebook).

If you think your video will be better with background music then add some background music but be very careful and do not use copyright music as your video will not be accepted.  Instead you can use licensed music like Beats N Bytes.  Click here for more details.

Promoting Your Video

If your Fan Page is large enough then videos will just go viral by itself.  If your goal of a viral video is to promote a product or get new fans to a page then you can run either a PPE or a Video Views Facebook Ad campaign.

Make sure that your audience is clearly defined using Audience Insights in Facebook and also make sure your audience is over 1-1.2 million.  You need a large audience to enable your video to go viral.  You can group multiple audiences in the same niche together to get your audience.

As people like your page you can click on the post likes and invite them to like your page.
